Six Star Testosterone Booster Review
Many of you will have ended up looking at this Six Star Testosterone Booster review after seeing the product on Amazon. It is currently a sponsored product, so no doubt it will be getting a lot of attention in the near future.
Supposedly made by the same guys behind the incredibly popular Muscletech supplement range, Six Star supplements are actually a little-known player in the sports supplement market right now. But of course, with such an impressive pedigree, we’re sure they’ll continue to become increasingly well known as time goes on.
So what is this product all about?
Who is Six Star Testosterone Booster designed for?
It is clear from the fact that it is made by a bodybuilding supplement company that Six Star Testosterone Booster is made primarily for amateur bodybuilders and other athletes who need to maximize muscle recovery, growth, and endurance.
According to the bottle, Six Star Testosterone Booster can produce the following results:
- Increase active testosterone in just 7 days
- Maintain a peak testosterone to cortisol ratio
- Enhance training performance
So our assumption was right; this stuff is made with gym-junkies in mind.
The claim that it is able to increase free serum testosterone levels in just 7 days is really quite ambitious.
We doubt that anybody will test their free serum test levels after just 7 days, which is why so many manufacturers make these claims.
Indeed, few supplements would be able to bring about significant shifts in testosterone production in just 7 days. Even testosterone analogues like Testosterone Cypionate or Testosterone Enanthate take a while to really build up in the system.
Some deficiencies can be corrected in just 7 days, but normally we need to wait about 12 days to see a notable spike in testosterone levels.
We need to wait even longer (around 30 days) to start to see improvements in endurance, strength, libido, and overall vitality. That is just the inherent limitation of working with a natural testosterone booster; there’s only so much you can achieve without injecting testosterone into your veins, and even then results are far from instant.
But that doesn’t mean Six Star Testosterone Booster can’t do these things!
To find out if it can, we need to do a proper Six Star Testosterone Booster review. Check out our analysis below; we look at the ingredients used in this product, the doses, and the likely side effects. If you don’t have time to get through the whole review, then you can skip to the summary at the end.
Six Star Testosterone Booster Formula
Let’s take a look at the Six Star Testosterone Booster formula so we can really judge what this supplement is capable of. Here is the label showing the ingredients and serving sizes:
That is a very slim formula!
Most natural testosterone boosting stacks we review will combine 8-12 ingredients, each of which are at least thought to encourage natural testosterone production in its own way.
However, here we get just 4 active ingredients.
Generally speaking, you’re never going to get the same results using just 4 ingredients as you will using 8 high quality ingredients which all encourage higher T levels in the blood.
But that doesn’t mean that a stack of just 4 ingredients is totally worthless.
We can tell you, however, that on the whole, we don’t think Six Star Testosterone Booster looks like a very good supplement.
Not at all.
The overriding reason for this is that the only ingredient in here which will affect testosterone production in any way is Boron, and many other stacks provide Boron along with about 10 other ingredients proven to reduce aromatase action, promote testosterone production, and enhance libido.
The other ingredients are more geared towards boosting brain function and supporting mood than influencing test levels.
That’s great, if you’re looking for a brain booster.
But this is a test booster.
As always, we’ll go into more detail about what we like and what we don’t like about this supplement.
The main benefit of Six Star Testosterone Booster is the fact that it provides 5mg of Boron per serving.
Boron is not used nearly enough by testosterone boosting supplements today. Very few supplements currently employ it, and even fewer dose it properly.
Boron is a very reliable way to increase the amount of free testosterone in your blood system.
The way it does this is by binding to Sex Hormone Binding Globulin. SHBG is the thing which binds to testosterone in the blood, thereby removing it from circulation (and making it totally useless to us). Boron sort of ‘takes the hit’ for testosterone, binding to SHBG, thus removing more SHBG from circulation and leaving more free testosterone floating around as a result.
Boron is not one of those old wives’ tales; there have been plenty of scientific studies attesting to Boron’s power as a SHBG binder.
Take this study for example. Here researchers found that “Boron in plasma increased significantly following hours and weekly consumption. Six hours supplementation showed a significant decrease on sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG)”. The researchers then noticed that “the mean plasma free testosterone increased and the mean plasma estradiol decreased significantly”, obviously as a result of SHBG decreases.
The 5mg of Boron we get from Six Star Testosterone Booster is enough to deliver all of the benefits associated with Boron supplementation, assuming we take the supplement on a daily basis for a few weeks at least.
The single major drawback of this product is the lack of ingredients that have anything to do with testosterone, estrogen, libido, or physical performance.
We’re being generous there, because in a test booster we don’t want things that will improve physical performance per se. For example, we don’t want caffeine and Citrulline. We want things that will raise our free serum test levels, which will in turn improve our physical performance.
If we didn’t care about test levels more than everything else, then we wouldn’t be looking for a test booster, would we?
Six Star Testosterone Booster doesn’t contain any ingredients known to influence testosterone levels at all.
It doesn’t contain any ingredients known to decrease the action of estrogen.
It doesn’t contain any known libido boosters.
Instead, it contains some ingredients that are very effective for improving memory function and reducing stress levels.
Ginkgo biloba is often used in brain supplements because it seems to improve brain blood flow without increasing blood pressure throughout the body. For someone who is struggling with mild memory issues, this can be a great natural treatment.
But it does nothing for test levels.
Rhodiola rosea is a very reliable stress-buster.
But again, its effectiveness is limited to the brain; it has no influence on hormonal activity.
So overall, Six Star Testosterone Booster is pretty impotent when it comes to actually doing the thing it is advertised as doing.
Only one of the ingredients will have any effect on testosterone levels. Yet this does not constitute what we have come to know as a “testosterone booster”. Most supplements we look at (with price tags similar to Six Star Testosterone Booster) are stacks utilizing between 6 and 14 ingredients.
Many supplements contain Boron as well as several other great testosterone boosters.
This ensures that the supplement will have an effect on you regardless of the cause of your low test levels; be it high SHBG presence in the blood, a certain deficiency, or just the physical effects of exhaustion.
Six Star Testosterone Booster is going to benefit very few users in a meaningful way.
Six Star Testosterone Booster Side Effects
Despite only containing 4 active ingredients, there are some side effect concerns regarding use of Six Star Testosterone Booster.
The main reason for concern is the use of Ginkgo Biloba.
GB increases cerebral blood flow. Doing this could be dangerous if you have certain existing conditions that may be affected by having a greater brain blood flow.
That said, GB does not raise blood pressure generally.
The dose of GB used in Six Star Testosterone Booster is also very low compared to some stand-alone GB supplements; they will provide as much as 75mg per serving.
As always, you need to be very careful when using supplements that contain unusual herbal extracts that you are not used to consuming on a regular basis.
Six Star Testosterone Booster Review Summary – Should You Buy It?
We don’t think this supplement is going to deliver on the promises made by the manufacturer.
Not even close.
We certainly don’t think it’s fair for Six Star Testosterone Booster to make out like it can deliver the same kind of results delivered by more comprehensive, professional, high quality testosterone supporting stacks.
If you’ve read our full Six Star Testosterone Booster review, then you know that our main issue here is that there is only 1 ingredient which affects testosterone levels.
The other ingredients are useless to you if your main concern is obtaining an optimal hormonal balance.
Six Star Testosterone Booster is, in essence, just a Boron supplement.
If you think you could benefit from optimizing your testosterone production, then you can do a lot better than Six Star Testosterone Booster.
If you want to put your T levels right up to their natural limit, you will need to opt for a more professional-grade, high quality testosterone booster. Check out our top rated products for more details.
